From a very young age, I knew I was a bit different—I'm the kind of person who gets teary-eyed watching a heartfelt commercial. Emotions have always been close to the surface for me, and what better industry to be in than the flower business? An emotional field for an emotional gal—sounds perfect, right?

I didn't jump into this venture on a whim. My family has a history in the floral business, so I guess you could say it's in my DNA. In 2015, I took my first plunge by buying Deer Valley Florist right here in Calgary. Four years later, I became the proud owner of the Master Franchise for Panda Flowers Canada. And in 2022, I took over Panda Flowers Southtrail. Before this, I had a successful run in the financial industry, but the moment I stepped into my first flower shop, I felt right at home.

Ever walked into a florist's shop and noticed the floor scattered with flower debris? That's not a mess; it's evidence of a busy, hard-working team. Contrary to what people might think, a flower shop isn't a tranquil oasis where we smell roses and munch on bonbons all day. Oh, how I wish!

Stamina and strength are the orders of the day. As I like to say, "Be in the transaction." A Customer Story We'll Never Forget
If I were to share a story that sticks with me, it would be about a bride-to-be and her fiancé. They were planning an intimate mountain wedding, reachable only by helicopter. We designed the most beautiful bouquet and boutonnière for them. Sadly, they both perished in a tragic accident before the wedding could take place. Their family initially called to cancel the flowers but later decided they wanted them for a Celebration of Life ceremony. That story chokes me up every time I think about it, reminding us of the irreplaceable role that flowers can play in life's most significant moments.
